Inspiration Mining has engaged Flamingo Drilling to begin diamond drilling at its Rottenstone North Gold-Copper Project located in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada.
The initiative will focus on exploring volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS)-style targets for copper, zinc, lead, silver, and gold along the southeastern boundary of the project.
Drill sites were selected based on geophysical anomalies and structural corridors aligned with Ramp Metals’ Rush copper-zinc-silver discovery located on the adjacent Rottenstone SW Property.
The company prioritised targets using regional geological analysis, structural interpretations, satellite-derived data, and proximity to known mineral trends.
Inspiration Mining is a major landholder in what is becoming a prominent VMS and gold exploration district in Canada, with sole ownership of approximately 35,500ha in the Rottenstone Gold/Copper Camp.
This strategically situated project aligns with recent findings, such as Ramp Metals’ Rush Target, and benefits from advanced satellite data identifying various gold-copper targets.
The Rottenstone North Project covers 4,512ha, while the acquisition of the Rottenstone West Project expands the total area to 35,500ha.
These projects are located to the west and southwest of Ramp Metals’ Rush and Ranger discoveries.
Situated along northeast-southwest geological structures, the Rottenstone projects feature high-grade findings, including significant gold and copper showings.
The Rottenstone West Project identified several massive sulphide occurrences in the 1950s, but the area has not been explored using modern methods.
In July 2025, an Advanced Atomic Mineral Resonance Tomography survey outlined high-priority gold and copper targets along the project’s eastern boundary. These targets align with regional trends and are consistent with Ramp’s nearby discoveries.
The company’s upcoming drilling programme will investigate these targets.
Inspiration Mining CEO Charles Desjardins said: “These are very exciting times for Inspiration. We have methodically developed a comprehensive drill plan over the past year and have reached a major milestone. We have also kept a relatively tight share structure leading into this drilling campaign.
“May 2026 will be the most important time in the company’s history to date, and we are very optimistic about the planned drilling programme.
“Our direct neighbour, Ramp Metals, recently announced (See Ramp news release April 15, 2026) they hit mineralisation in all nine holes drilled in close proximity to the planned Inspiration drill programme.”
